Harper 22 months

Sup people, I'm almost 2

Age: 22 months

Height/weight:  Not quite sure about the height but thanks to the scale at the hospital I know she weighs 28 lbs

Health:  Another day....another cold...another trip to the hospital for breathing issues.  Such is our life.  Here's to hoping (and praying) she outgrows this and that her brother does not inherit the same issues!  (Otherwise she's doing great)

Clothing:  Time to start breaking out the summer attire!!! All the lingering 18 mo items have been donated or have been handed down to friends and when I do buy clothes for her it's all 3T...so big!

Sleep/Milestones:  Harper has FINALLY been called up to the big leagues (aka Toddler 2) at daycare.  Her previous room was 12-24ish mo and although she's not quite 24 mo yet she was the oldest in the room by 3+ months and honestly kind of bored I think.  I really advocated for her to be transitioned early so that she wasn't switching rooms right at the same time little brother came home and as soon as another child moved up she moved on in....what a difference!!! Her language is already taking off and her sleep? Let's just say that keeping up with 2-3 1/2 year olds is giving her a run for her money...3+ hour naps daily now as opposed to the 1.5 hour ones we were getting before.  The downside to being with older kids?--> Miss thing has had no shortage of sass since moving into the new room. Coincidence? I think not.

Baby gear love: This thing -->
This little gem is the Radio Flyer 4 in 1 trike.  I have been looking at this contraption since just before she was 1 but balked at the $99 price tag.  It's the kind of bike that grows with you (stage 3 is shown above).  Harper is now at an age where she wants to be riding something but doesn't quite have the whole peddling thing down yet.  Shaun and I both spent a few weekends hunched over pushing her on other bikes, big wheels etc etc...trust me when I say the push bar in the back is the shmidt!  My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner!  Harper asks to go for a ride every day...worth the money and then some.

Outings:
First Movie!!!
We knew it would either be awesome or awesomely awful so we picked a Sunday matinee at Smitty's so that it wouldn't be crowded and she'd have her own huge seat to squirm around on.  She ended up in my lap the whole movie go figure, but thanks to a steady stream of snacks and a cute movie it was a success!!

First walk into the ocean
I love the ocean...I really do, and Harper had a great time as well, but with this little gem at the end of my street I forsee us spending more time there.  No parking...no crowds...forgot something? No problem I'll just run home and get it.  Especially with an infant on the way this is a win/win!

Nana's new lake house! Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms and a child friendly yard to play on? Thanks for buying us your new digs in Maine!!
The playground!!
This little playground is less than .25 miles from our new house, you should hear this child squeal when realizes where we are "SLIIIIIIIIIIDE!!!!"

Diapers: Still a size 5.  I've begun the fun (ahem expensive) process of buying a case of diapers for both kids at the same time....potty training anyone? Speaking of which, they have her trying at school because that's what the big kids do and we try at home as well.  Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't.  Nothing we're ready to push yet.

Diet: We're in a good groove right now.  She's eating without much protest so hopefully we're over the "picky" hump...for now at least.  I'm sure she'll throw another curve ball at me right around the time I have a screaming infant to contend with as well :)

Snacks with cousin Tyler

Likes: First and foremost this girl loves rocks...yes rocks.  Every single time she steps outside the first thing she does is pick up a rock which she then holds for the duration of whatever we're doing or wherever we're going.  We've had to tell her that rocks live outside so that we could stop finding them all throughout the house.  She also loves all of the above activities (playground, beach, bike etc etc) drawing on driveway

Bubble guppies, coloring, brushing her teeth, playing in her tent with daddy and destroying her brother's room :)  Oh and ice cream....girl loves some ice cream (have no idea where she gets that from).

Dislikes: Having to be patient for anything.  When she gets really upset (remember that sass I told you about? mmmm hmmmm) I can tell her to stop and take a breath and honest to god she does...and most times keeps on crying after but still.  It's the funniest thing ever, I keep trying to get it on video.  It's also been confirmed after more than a dozen tries she HATES red sauce in any form on any food (weirdo, she gets that from her father)

Putting on makeup and kissing boys....they grow up so fast....see you next month!!

33 Weeks

How far along: 33 weeks 2 days

Gender: Boy

Weight: Up 1.6 this week, 22.4 lbs total

Maternity clothes: Yup, and bored with them all

Stretch marks: None

Belly button in/out: O U T

Sleep: So not an issue.  Try as I may to stay awake most nights I am fast asleep on the couch by 9pm....Shaun will be having a conversation with me only to look over and zzzzzz...he says I am F U N ...

Worst moment of the week: I've never been one to think of myself as "delicate" however being 33+ weeks pregnant does put some restrictions on your body, none of which I seem to be aware of until I have overdone it and am already paying the price.  My excitement of getting the bins of baby clothes in the basement sorted and organized led to a few sore/achy/crampy days this week.

Best moment of the week: Even though lifting and sorting and shuffling bins put me on the disabled list for a day or two it was nice to take stock of what we have and what we need.  I pulled out and went through the bins labeled "Baby crap" (which included baby bottles shoot me now).  Things are start to be put in their place and Bruce's room is finally starting to come together!

Miss anything: All things running related....speed, distance, my lovely lovely workout clothes

Cravings: Seafood...welcome to summer

Anything making you sick or queasy: Chicken...blech

Running: Got in 3 runs totaling 10 miles before I decided I was superwoman and had to take a few days off, back at it tonight.

Looking forward to: An uneventful week :)

Different this time around: I took a peek back at my 33 week post last time and I can honestly say nothing is different.  Sleeping the same...craving the same...feeling the same...running the same...even weight gain is the same :)

32 Weeks

How far along: 32 weeks 3 days

Gender: boy

Weight gain: .4lbs this week, 20.8 lbs total

Maternity clothes:  Yes ma'am, trying really hard to make what I have stretch for the last few weeks

Stretch marks: no and no thank you

Belly button in or out: Nowhere to go but out

Sleep:  I've been doing really well with my water intake...which means a few nightly trips to the bathroom.  I'm so used to it I barely wake up anymore.

Worst moment of the week:  Sick kids are the pits. But kids who can't even get a common cold without breathing issues therefore landing us in the hospital is the absolute worst.  Our wonderful weekend ended with Harper working very very hard to breathe which in turn landed us at QuickCare for 3 or 4 hours.  She's on the mend now but it was not the highlight of the week that's for sure.

Best moment of the week:  Saturday  my sister in law got my best girls together to throw a little sprinkle to celebrate little Bruce.  Unlike my first shower this was a small affair which was so nice because I actually got to visit and chat with people and enjoy their company.  From beginning to end it was a great day :)

Miss anything:  The ability to paint my own toenails...guess this means I'll have to go to the salon to have them done...aw shucks.

Cravings: Ice cream....all the ice cream....this could be trouble.

Anything making you sick/queasy: Nope and rather enjoying that

Running: 11 miles for the week, and I fought for every one of them.  I thought that running pregnant with Harper at this stage...man this is a whole new ballgame.  Bruce is definitely sitting much much lower and wreaking havoc on my bladder and pelvic bone.  Thanks to the convenience of Bad Larry I'm still getting in more miles than I was at this point last pregnancy but I'm coming to grips with the fact that it won't be long now before walking will have to become part of the regular routine.

Looking forward to: Well I was looking forward to a weekend at my mom's lake house...until I saw that the forecast is complete crap.  A long weekend full of house projects it is!

31 Weeks

How far along: 31 weeks 2 days

Gender: boy

Weight: well on the upside the strawberry shortcake, hot fudge sundae and coffee shake I had throughout my birthday weekend were FAB-U-LOUS, the downside is that I packed on a solid 1.6lbs this week for a grand total of 21lbs
****Correction--> Somebody got a talking to by their OB yesterday for being super dehydrated and swollen (oopsie) After slamming a few gallons of water last night and this am I hopped on the scale and viola--> .6 lighter. Lesson? Drink your damn water it makes a difference

Maternity clothes: Interpreting 3 graduating ceremonies in the next few weeks required ducking into Motherhood, but that's about it.

Stretch marks: nada

Belly button in or out: It's out where I suspect it will remain for the duration

Sleep:  Better this week.  Literally fell asleep sitting straight up while watching tv more than once this week.  Work has been really busy lately and will continue to be for the next few weeks so I'm hoping it won't be an issue.  The hubs says I've been a ton of fun lately, I tell him I'm growing a fetus so back off ;)

Worst moment of the week:  two words --> pregnancy hormones.  Sometimes I would if I would react to situations the same way if I didn't have a gajillion (real number) hormones coursing through my body.  Either way it was a week chock full of emotions (rational or otherwise)

Best moment of the week: Mother's Day 5k, hands down the best run I've had in awhile.  This race is always chaos with over 2500 runners.  It has grown so large that I stopped doing it a few years ago because spending 3.1 miles dodging people who (god love them) don't understand pace is not my idea of a good time.  The only reason I decided to do it was because I had also run it pregnant with Harper so it was tradition :)  My intention was to find a nice spot in the back of the pack and jog my way through 3.1 leisurely miles but when the cannon went off darn it didn't I feel GOOD!! The sun was out (and way too frickin hot in my book) my running clothes were comfortable for once so I just went with it.  I had forgotten my ipod, which turned out to be a good thing because I needed every once of concentration to clipping someone or falling as I dodged hundreds of people.
This may not be impressive to some but my watch showed 8:30's-9:15's after the first mile for the rest of the race and I assure you I haven't seen numbers that low in WEEKS.  I finished in a respectable 29:18 a full 3 min faster than when I ran the race pregnant with Harper and beating all my non pregnant friends (BOOM)
What?

Miss anything: So many things, but that's to be expected when you've been pregnant for what feels like forever and still have 8 weeks or less to go.  Instead I'll choose something I'll miss when I'm NOT pregnant anymore....Bruce has been VERY VERY VERY active this week and feeling him move, dance, poke my ribs...bladder etc is probably the coolest feeling ever and something I will definitely miss.

Cravings:  Summertime weather has brought out the fruit and veggie craving full force.  Nightly bowls of cheerios & strawberries are still a must as well as cucumber sandwiches for lunch. Salad? Yes please.  This is probably a good thing considering my healthy weight gain these past few weeks.

Anything making you sick/queasy:  Nada

Looking forward to: My SIL Kim has been nice enough to organize a little celebration for Bruce this Saturday.  Because we bought gender neutral colors the first time around we have most everything we need. with the exception of a few items so we only asked for clothes.  EEE GADS we need help!!! I have not bought one single item for this poor child (not one I swear)!  I'm excited to spend an hour or two with some of my most favorite ladies :)

Running: Finished out the week with 17.5 miles!

Different this time around: Oh the pelvic pain... If you remember a few weeks ago I was raving about the return of my ball chair...well, turns out that chair is not all it's cracked up to be, at least this time around anyway.  Over the past few weeks I started to notice that while sitting on the ball chair took care of the back pain I had been feeling, as soon as I would stand up there was a whole other problem.  After talking to our company's masseuse (yes we have one, yes he's amazing) and his guess is that pain I'm feeling is my pelvic bones being allowed to stretch because of sitting on the ball chair and when I stand up I'm asking those same bones/muscles to go back into their normal position (ouch believe me).  So it's either a regular chair and back pain or ball chair and lady part pain....I'll choose back pain thanks.

30 weeks

How far along: 30 weeks 2 days

Gender: BOY

Weight:  1.4 for a total of 19.4.  For the past three weeks I've showed large weight gain Tuesday morning when I do my weekly weigh in only to find the number is significantly lower Wed morning after a day of buckling down and getting the proper fluid intake (for some reason I find weekends hard to get all my water).  We'll see if this holds true tomorrow.

Maternity clothes: Busted out the spring/summer stash and packed up the winter preggo pants FOREVER!!

Stretch marks: Still good in this department

Belly button in or out: O-U-T

Sleep:  Definitely noticing a change in my sleep this week.  I'm having to get up more to pee in the middle of the night and overall just more restless.

Worst moment of the week:  Hands down the worst moment this week was my creepy encounter with another customer in Dunkin Donuts.  I caught her and her 5(?) year old daughter staring at me and when I looked over she took that as permission to open the floodgates.  She proceeded to tell me she was also pregnant, 3 mo along (even pulled up her shirt to show me her bare belly to prove it) and then proceeded to recount her entire reproductive history, miscarriages stillbirths and all, and told me she hopes this ones a boy and makes it because "all the dead ones have been girls".
Yes I'm still having nightmares....

Best moment of the week: I've hit that stage of pregnancy where I constantly have an elbow...knee...butt...head....poking out or jamming me in the ribs.  It is at the same time holy crap uncomfortable and very very cool.  Because my uterus is being retired after this baby I'm trying to enjoy it as much as possible.

Miss anything: That great sleep I've been raving about until this week :/

Cravings: still going strong with the Cheerio and strawberry prebed snack.

Anything making you sick/queasy: Nada

Running: Ended the week with 15 miles.  Last "race" this coming Sunday :)  In other news I am quickly running out of running clothes that fit....

Looking forward to: Celebrating birthdays and Mother's day this weekend

Different this time around: Well the old bladder ain't what she used to be that's for sure....we'll leave it at that.
