19 & 20 weeks and oh boy it's a BOY!!

It's a Two-fer this week! I wanted to wait until after our anatomy scan on Tuesday afternoon to do the 19 week update and then ooops the week got away from me.

How far along: 20 weeks 2days which prompts simultaneous thoughts of "Woo Hoo 1/2 way there!" and "Crap! 1/2 way there!"

Gender: Holy shit it's a boy!! From the beginning of the pregnancy I had very strong "boy" feelings (remember that prediction I told you I had written down and dated? It said Boy, I have witnesses) by the time my appt rolled around I had all but convinced myself I was having a little girl.  Another girl would have been totally fine with both of us although the thought of TWO teenage girls??? Ugh, how much is boarding school??
Within seconds of the scan starting the tech informed us that baby was sitting oh so comfortably in breech position which makes all aspects of a scan challenging ESPECIALLY finding out the gender (damn you kid!!)
45 min and multiple position changes later I was practically on my head and happened to cough....WHOOP! HE gave up the goods (boy did he ever, I'll spare you the tacky "look it's a penis" shot, take my word for it, it's a boy).  Shaun high fived me and let out a sigh of relief that the Breton name will no longer die on his watch! We are both thrilled and now just have to name the little bugger.  In the meantime we refer to him as "Bruce" yes like the shark in Nemo and said the same way "Bruuuuce".
Unforutnaely Bruce didn't feel like giving up ALL the goods and I am scheduled to go back next week to hopefully get the rest of the measuerments they couldn't get the first time and then again at 32 weeks due to my *cough* advanced maternal age *cough*.
Weight: No clue, I think probably a solid lb

Maternity clothes:  I'm pretty stingy when it comes to spending clothes that I'm only going to wear for 10+ months but I have to say there is something to be said for shelling out a few extra dollars for quality clothes.  When I was pregnant with Harper Target and Motherhood were my go-to places and by the end of the pregnancy those clothes were BEAT!  I bought a few new items from Motherhood this time around (gave up on Target, their selection is crap) and have been really disappointed. I"m only 20 weeks in and they just can't hold up to being worn over and over and over while accomodating a growing belly.  I splurged on a few items from Gap....WHOA! Worth every penny.  Just my 2 cents.

Stretch marks: nope

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: Like a champ

Worst moment of the week:  Unless my memory is failing me I don't think I had a "worst" in the past two weeks.  Life is good.

Best moment of the week: Obviously the gender scan was a highlight of the past two weeks

Miss anything:  Oh you know the normal--> pants with waist bands...getting up without grunting...a tastey beverage every now and again...sit ups?

Craving anything: The cucumber sandwich craving is BACK (which played a big part of me thinking girl again) as well as Grilled chicken greek salad from Cumberland House of Pizza.  Yummmmm

Anything making you sick or naseus?  NO!!!! Praise the lord NO!!!! I have not been sick in any way shape or form since my bout with the stomach flu two weeks ago.  I'm sure I just jinxed myself and will be reporting that I"m back to my pukey ways next week but the past two weeks have been AMAZING!

Looking forward to: Getting the nursery underway...

Anything differnt this time around: Let's just say I've had to invest in a few new bras...WHOA!

18 Weeks

How far along: 18 weeks 2 days

Gender: 1 week and counting until we solve that mystery

Weight: Still gaining back the weight I lost from the stomach flu last week

Maternity clothes: Picked up a few new things at Motherhood this weekend...still looking for an interpreting assignment that will allow me to wear athletic clothing to work everyday :)

Stretch marks: nada.  Keeping up with my daily regiment of lubing up although I've skipped the fancy lotions this time around, I'm not really convinced they do much of anything anyway.

Belly button in/out: still an innie

Sleep: *knock on wood* no problems here...Harper's bronchilitis has reared it's ugly head again (we figured it would at some point) so I've had a few wake ups due to that but if left to my own devices I sleep like the dead.

Worst moment of the week: Realizing my 24 hour stomach flue was not exactly 24 hours....more like 72...blech.

Best moment of the week: After a week of illness and no absolutely NO activity by Sunday I was FINALLY feeling better had a normal breakfast and went for a RUN! Ahhhhhhh! The roads are pretty treacherous around our house so I continued my love affair with Bad Larry. It was a glorious run even if it was only 4 miles :)

Miss anything:  My energy.  I keep waiting for the 2nd trimester Second wind to hit me.  Now that I have the flu behind me it should be any day right??

Cravings: Yup, this happened.  It was an itch that needed to be scratched and I will happily name the next dimple in my thigh in this donuts honor. Yum.

Anything making you sick/queasy:  I'm just sick of being sick.  Stomach flu aside I have been sick/nauseaus/vomiting  for the past 13 weeks.  I have tried the vitamin B6/unisom combo and it works wonders but I really resist taking it or anything else because I'm not sick every single day, it's random and sporadic.  Anywho wah me, keeping my eye on the prize

Looking forward to: More sledding this weekend with friends.  Harper scored a sweet super sonic snow tube from Bean's this weekend (and that child is a dare devil!!). Also looking forward to dinner Sunday with my favorite Machowski's and of course our anatomy scan next Tuesday.

Different this time around: As mentioned above I'm feeling a bit more lacking in the energy department than I remember at this point in the second trimester.  I have a toddler to chase this time around and can't just take a nap any old time I feel like it so I think it's to be expected.

Boy/Girl what's your pick??
Harper: Morning sickness from weeks 6-10
               Clear skin
               Heartbeat ranged from 145-160
               Gained 8lbs
Craved cheeseburgers, chips, fruit, veggies....no interest in sweets

B2:   Severe morning sickness from weeks 6-18 weeks and counting
         Clear skin
         Heartbeat has ranged from 155-178
         Gained 6lbs
         Carrying low
         Headaches and lack of energy
Craving everything under the sun.  Thai food, veggies, fruit, steak, all the carbs.  See above                    picture, sweets are not an issue this time around.  Well they are...but you know what I mean!

17 Weeks

(writing this from my sick bed so we're keeping it short and sweet this week folks)

How far along:  17 weeks 3 days

Gender: ?? Two weeks and counting

Weight:  Down a few lbs this week thanks to the stomach virus

Maternity clothes: nothing but sweats and sweatshirts today

Stretch marks: Nada

Belly button in/out: In

Sleep: Hasn't been a problem at all

Worst moment of the week: Two words: stomach virus.  I got up Tuesday morning nauseous as usual.  I chalked it up to B2 being a punk (sorry kid) and got ready for work and hit the road.  None of my normal anti-nausea tricks were working but still I didn't think much of it….until the puking began.  Now this might be miserable for anyone but for someone who is on tv with people staring at them trying to work while at the same time trying not to vomit? True misery.  2 hours into my work day and two trips to be sick in the (public) restroom at work I threw in the towel and called it a day.  A quick call to the Dr and she confirmed what I had already guessed by now…stomach virus.  Liquid diet and couch for this girl.  I narrowly escaped needing an IV and probably the most miserable 24 hours in my recent memory.

Best moment of the week:  I'll have to give the honors here to Shaun.  He left work early (no easy feat for a mailman), no questions asked and picked up Harper from daycare.  Upon arriving home I was banished to the bedroom and I didn't see or hear from them (unless they were delivering Gatorade) for the rest of the evening.  What a good man :)

Miss Anything:  my appetite

Cravings: Wrong day to answer this. Not one single solitary thing

Anything making you sick or queasy:  hahaha very funny.  Also the wrong day to answer this

Looking forward to: Feeling better.

Different this time around:  Nothing comes to mind this week

Holy heck these comparisons can be depressing! They say you measure about 4 weeks ahead of your first time around…ummm yup
